INSTANT DOWNLOADS!
This site was formerly known as WorkoutCD.com but they changed to WorkoutMixes.com to have a more clearly defining domain name. This fitness music site offers great workout mixes available at great prices and are instantly downloadable after purchase. Fans of dance club music are really going to like the music available here. While there weren't many fitness music mixes to choose from, what they do have sounds great and will certainly energize you. Avg. prices of the mixes are $9.99 though when I checked the site they were running a sale to bring awareness to the new site.

Physical CDs / Snail Mail
PowerMusic.com has been in the fitness music game for a long time. Their site boasts a large collection of fitness music which is divided among damn near any fitness category you can think of. Alot of the music is mainstream, pop music. This is considered boring to me because I hear this junk all the time on the radio. I also wonder about sites like these and if the own a legit license to sell music mixes like these.

One thing you will notice as soon as you get to this fitness music mix site is that it's in desperate need of a makeover. The site has many graphical and design apects to it that easily date it back to 1998. Their use of windows media codec is terrible (hello, everyone uses flash and flash loads so much better). As for the music, this is another site that has many, many music mixes for use during many fitness activites. Again, I have to wonder if sites like this are selling these mixes legally or not. Regardless, what you will find is alot of mainstream, pop music and some decent electronica tracks. These folks also sell workout videos for whatever that is worth. I could have given this site 3 stars but the points mentioned above about their site design totally take away from the site.

Snail Mail + Downloads
Wow. This site is not very attractive at all. The layout is bland, outdated, and confusing. This fitness music site sells downloads and physical cds of fitness mixes. You're going to find the same old radio hits here as you do many other fitness music sites (or you can just turn on your radio) as well as some pretty good electronica mixes. I found some mixes here with some classic trance jams on them. This is yet another site in which I am confused on just how they can get away with selling the music offered here. Last I checked, you need to buy a license from the music's owner to be able to sell it. Anyways, if you're not worried about breaking any laws, you can download a few mixes from this site and you'll probably like them.

Promotes iTunes
Well, if you're an internet or mp3/iTunes newbie, you may not toally understand this site. Shoot, I'm an experienced webmaster of many years and I found this site a little confusing. What they offer are downloadable workout mixes and ipod videos. They offer links to buy stuff through the iTunes music store. I do like the site's design. It's very pretty. Unfortunately, what they are offering is confusing if not deceiving. I think there may be some type of membership involved with being able to use the site's content. I also tried their free streams links and no music played. I only got "connection could not be established errors. I really don't know what this site is all about.

Physical CD / Snail Mail

Where do we start with this site? Well, there's an annoying autoplaying flash video intro on the main page. I hate nothing more than audio that starts blairing and catches me off guard when I visit a site. It's really annoying. Inside you will find a cardio music mix site that is packing alot of music. Again, like with the other sites in this guide, you'll find lots of mainstream rap, rock, r&b, alternative and pop. Again, when I see a site that looks this low budget, I really wonder how they can afford a reseller's license for such popular music. The music gets shipped out on physical cds which means if you're ready to get your jam on right now and hit the gym, it's not going to happen by shopping for your fitness music at this site.
WorkoutMusicVideo.com

Physical CD / Snail Mail
Alright. Off the bat, I like this site. It has a clean design. Easy to navigate, easy to understand. That's a plus among many negatives. One negative is that the music is shipped out on a cd which can take a while. Another negative is that the fitness music mixes on this site have coverart baring the PowerMix.com logo. Now, is this site blatently ripping off PowerMix.com or is this a powermix.com affiliate, disributer, or a fitness music site run by powermix.com under a different name and domain? Again, this is another fitness music site that has lots and lots of music mixes to workout to and many of them, shoot, all of them are full of mainstream music. Again, how are these sites legally selling this music? Are they just taking songs and putting them together on a cd and selling them as mixes without paying the rightful owners of the music? This is another site that does not list anywhere on the site that they can legally sell this music. This also makes me wonder why customers would even buy these overprices mixes. If they're full of songs you can easily buy individually from iTunes, why not buy them individually through an instant download and save some money?
BurnTrax.com
burntrax.com

Physical CD / Snail Mail
Bravo! Finally, a fitness music cd site that doesn't appear to be selling copyrighted music illegally. Burntrax.com offers a large variety of fitness music. The best part about the site is that it's one of only a few that offers music choices that aren't songs you can hear playing on the radio all day long. While this store gets a solid 4 stars, it could have gotten 5 if the site design was prettied up and easier to use and if they would offer some type of music download instead of only shipping of the physical workout mixes on cd. Also, the price could stand to be dropped. Most mixes that I would be interested in cost about $19.95. That's a bit steep. I think that in this day and age of digital information, the consumer should not have to pay more for the inconvenience of having to wait for a cd to arrive in the mail. Regardless, I'm most happy to have found this site. The music isn't as cool as WorkoutMixes.com, but it's better than all the others on here.
DynamixMusic.com
dynamixmusic.com

Physical CD / Snail Mail
Blah! I'm not a fan of this unoriginal fitness music estore. This site appears to be nothing more than a place to resell fitness music, fitness apparel, etc. What does that mean? Jacked up prices for you, the consumer. Their workout and fitness music mixes selection will appear lame to anyone who hase musical taste that reaches beyond whatever the radio and mtv is shoving down society's throats. To to off the poor selection, they ship the mixes via snail mail instead of offering a digital download. Two thumbs Down!
PodFitness.com

iPod / iTunes Affiliate

I still don't know how the person or people behind this site are still in business and not getting their asses sued off. Thhis site is the result of a recipe for making money selling "fitness mixes" by combining 1 part great idea (even if not completely legal) and 9 parts use Apple's tradmarked product names, images, and anythign else they can rip. On the footer of this site, it states that PodFitness.com is not supported or endorsed by Apple so will someone please tell me how they are getting away with this.

If you're wondering what this site sells, it's some sort of membership to get access to their software that creates "unique" workout soundtracks for your workouts which are optimized to be used on Apple iPod multimedia devices.

I can't knock an idea that seems to be working. The website design is great. They make eye catching advertisements which can be found in fitness and health magazines. I just can't fully endorse a site which I feel is completely ripping Apple.

The Winner - WorkoutMixes.com

The website design is clean. The flash video on the main page (which does not start on it's own which is how it should be) is motivating and plays a hot audio track that is sure to get the most lazy of people motivated to pump some iron. The music selection is not anywhere near as long as some of these other legally questionable fitness music sites but the tunes rock, are original, and sound great! There's no waiting for any cds to arrive in the mail which is great. There are easy to use audio preview players for all fitness mixes which is great. Making a purchase is pretty simple. Add what you want to your virtual cart, log in to your account or make a new one (only takes a minute), make your purchase securely, and download your music. Simple. I love it. - visit workoutmixes.com
